About

Welcome to the website for the Montgomery Group, located in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Duquesne University. As a research group, we are passionate about exploring the intricacies of organic chemistry, with a particular focus on developing innovative synthetic methods and probing the theoretical underpinnings of these chemical transformations. Our work spans from the synthesis of novel heterocyclic compounds to mechanistic investigations of complex reactions, all with the goal of advancing the field and providing new tools for chemists.

Our recent publications highlight our diverse interests, including cycloaddition reactions of tertiary amine N-oxides, the chemistry of aza-BODIPYs, and mechanistic studies using computational methods. We believe in a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach, and we are always excited to welcome new members to our team. Please explore our site to learn more about our research, our members, and opportunities to join our group!
